Last year a woman ran a marathon with no tampon or pad with the expectation of destigmatizing the ” shame” of menstruating. You want to throw a party and embrace your teen ager for becoming a women go for it. I have this picture in my mind of dogs chasing the bleeding marathoner. God can you imagine if the marathon was in extreme heat.  Flies swarming around the woman.  ” Your period let’s you know you are not pregnant. YAY period !!”
