Mel, Denver

Mel is a hardworking Denver Coyote who has been with us almost four years. She brings joy and that fun Ugly attitude to light up Coyote every day she works! She keeps a good attitude and supports her fellow Coyotes! She deserves some love! ❤️

Hometown: Snowflake, Arizona, is home to me. Although I’ve lived on the entire west coast.

What’s the must fun about your job at Coyote Ugly?
Easily; working with a bunch of amazing powerhouses. I love my tribe. Having a family away from home. There’s nothing like it. Being given a safe space for self-expression and creative freedom. I learn something new about my capabilities every shift.

What makes you a good Coyote?
I am such a dedicated and determined person. If you aren’t having a good day, I’m here for you. Sometimes, getting out of your comfort zone can elevate you from a bad perspective. Come dance your sorrows away with me.

How long have you been a bartender?
4 years. It all started at a dive bar 8 years ago and eventually led me to where I am today.

What do like to do on your off time?
My other passion is theater. Although you will not find me acting, surprisingly. I can be a stagehand, seamstress, and do costume fittings, lights, and stage construction, and all that jazz. You can also find me cosplaying my favorite anime characters at conventions.

What is your favorite type of music?
Loud, live, music. The kind that gives you chills up your spine. The music that shakes your soul. Jazz, progressive metal, EDM, bluegrass, rap, I love it all!

Do you think the movie is anything like the real thing?
There’s a movie?! Just kidding, I grew up watching it. It shows that you can be a woman in this world sitting in many chairs while chasing your dreams. The most important fact is that one woman can create an entire community and family all around the world. It’s incredible! Thank you, Lil!

Why should a potential customer come and visit you?
I am here for the shy ones. Let that freak flag fly high, darlin’! My favorite thing is to see people come out of their shell, surprise themselves! And let loose, because that is self-growth!

Do you have any advice for women that want to be a Coyote?
Only you can hold yourself back! Besides, as Jim Carey once said “Life doesn’t happen to you. It happens for you. It’s Better to Fail at What You Love Than Fail at What You Don’t.”
Lastly, be yourself!
