Skarlit is a leader and always has a positive attitude! She’s inspiring and an aspiring singer. She keeps the crowd going and is great behind as well as in the bar. We are lucky to have her here in NYC!

Hometown: Ridgefield, CT (though my heart is in NJ where I was born)

What’s the most fun about your job at Coyote Ugly?
I love being able to get up and perform every week. My first passion was musical theatre, so to be able to get up onto the bar and dance and sing and be the sassier side of myself is some wonderful deja-vu.

What makes you a good Coyote?
I love that each Coyote has their own spark, their own thing to bring to the table. I think mine is my musical side and also my bubbly personality. I’m not afraid to be weird and silly while serving the bar. I think for the most part, it makes our lady clients more comfortable about taking the chance to get up and strut their stuff on the bar top. Whenever I can get a lady up on the bar, I consider it a huge win!

How long have you been a bartender?
I’ve been serving for years, but when this location opened in June, this was actually my first bartending job and I’m LOVING it.

What do you like to do on your off time?
I’m an independent singer-songwriter and an audio engineer. When I’m off at Coyote, I sink most of my time into my music career. I’ll be in the studio, writing and collabing, working on trying to find representation, sometimes I’ll be rehearsing with my band for gigs (PS two of my band members are my brothers. Shout out to Rory and Drew, love you!)

What is your favorite type of music?
Gosh, I really like a little of everything. I’m a sucker for the oldies; from The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder all the way to MJ. Though, I’m also really into pop and Indie rock music. I love Dirty Loops, Tennis, Mac Ayres, Radiohead, Tame Impala, John Mayer, Charlie Puth… alright I’ll stop before the list goes on for a mile..

Do you think the movie is anything like the real thing?
Yes and no. The energy, yes! We are always down for a crazy good time. I think we get to show more of who we are as Coyotes in real life than they did in the movie. Violet had to change herself a lot to become one, but here, our differences are celebrated! I also notice in the movie the girls aren’t as protected and the crowd is roudier with them. That’s not the case here. We have the best guys making sure we are safe, and our customers are super sweet and respectful!

Why should a potential customer come and visit you?
If you’re having a bad day, I’m sure I can put a smile on your face. Whether it’s with some jokes and some sass or with a song and a dance! And I’ll never fail to call for a shot-time too 😉

Do you have any advice for women who want to be a Coyote?
It’s okay to be nervous, I was for a while. Don’t let it deter you, because before you know it, you’ll be slinging drinks and dancing on that bar like there’s no tomorrow! Just be you!
